Nov 7, 2016
In September, the EPA has banned the use of a chemical, triclosan, in antibacterial hand soaps and body washes. Triclosan has been linked to hormone disrupting effects, bacterial and antibiotic resistance, and impacts on aquatic organisms. For more on the FDA's ban, click here
As a service to all of our current active SDS clients, we will be reviewing the soaps, washes and detergents in your inventory over the coming weeks to identify what products contain this chemical. You will be receiving an email with a list of those chemicals. You are not required to purge these chemicals, though you may choose to do so if you feel this is a proactive move. Our goal is to at least keep you informed of what chemicals you have.
As your SDS management partner, we do not simply house your documents. We are here actively monitoring your chemicals and helping you manage the hazards present to your employees. This is what sets us apart, and this is why you have partnered with us at HazCommpliance.
As always, we appreciate our relationship and look forward to bringing you this information of triclosan in your inventory.
